A Great Fun Event in October is Japanese Table Talk!

Japanese Table Talk on October 11th, 2013

I already said that early today that Japanese Table Talk was going to hold tonight, and I was going to go there. Well, I went to there, and I was trying to help some of stuff. Also, trying to figure out that what kind of event will be there. First, kids are going to practice for Christmas song, and who organized this helping kids to sing songs. That was a good moment to watch and mothers are watching their kids during that time. After that practice was finish, we started Japanese Table Talk now. The first thing is getting food from everyone brought to there, and same time I and my friends are trying to write and make birthday card for this month birthdays' people. When people are getting their food to table where we sat and talk during eating time. So that time is just talking and eating time for everyone. What we talk about there... Well, that is depend on what people want to talk about. I usually sat down with usually people. But this time one of my friend came there first time, so I decided to sit down with them. That was a good change for me sometime, also it was a good thing for talking different people who coming to there.

(すでに今日早くにブログにも載せていたんですが、日本人へのテーブルトークという行事に今夜、参加してきた。そこに行ってすぐに少しだけお手伝いをして、テーブルトーク自体が始まるまでの間、子供達が合唱をしているのも見ながらたわいもない話を来ている人としていました。子供達が練習していたのは、クリスマスの時のテーブルトークで歌う合唱でした。見ているのは結構楽しいものだと思ってしまいました。そしてお母さん達も子供が練習する姿を見ながらテーブルトークが始まるのを待っていました。そして、6時半ごろになって練習が終わりテーブルトークの始まりです。まずは皆さんが持ってきた料理をお皿に盛ってテーブルにつき、食べるということになります。それと同時に今月誕生日の方々への誕生日カードも作りました。来ている皆さんに寄せ書きのようにお祝いの言葉を書いてもらうのですが。。。準備が終わって、さぁ食事をお皿に盛ってテーブルにといつものようにしていましたが、今回は初めてテーブルトークに参加される友達が着ていたのでいつものグループではなくそちらの方に行きました。でも、やっぱりいつも同じ人というよりは時には違う人と話すのもいいものですね。違う席に行ったというのがやっぱり新鮮でテーブルトークはこの為にあるのだからと改めて思い直しました。)

We had some Happening to get blackout during Table Talk.

After finishing up eating, kids start playing games and making cushion for corner tables, and we start having more talking on the table since kids are having a good time playing game and making cushions. Also, during that time organizer and other people are trying to take picture at picture booth like above I showed one picture. During that time, we had so much fun with all people. That was a great Japanese Table Talk, but suddenly it had blackout! Everyone stopped talking and trying to figure out what's going on around us. That wasn't expected to happen this time. But it had. Well, after 10 minutes or so, light are back. It was just few moment of blackout. So that was ok. Then we had Pastor Yokoi's speech about a Japanese doctor's story. That was a good story to hear from him. Then final event is singing to birthday of this month people. That will be all for This Japanese Table Talk!  I am glad to went to there. I am hopping that I will be able to go there as many as I can.

これは自分が作ったものです。

(食事を一通り終えた後はお菓子やデザートといったものもあります。それも終わったら、子供たちはゲームをやり始めたりします。今回は手作りクッションを作れるように用意をしてありました。子供達がそれに集中している間他の人たちはテーブルでお話をしています。そして、子供達がこんなの作ったよと持ってきたものを見ながらふれあいの時間へと変わります。なんとも微笑ましい光景です。これこそテーブルトークの醍醐味ですね。そうやっている間に突然！停電に！みんなビックリして話が止まってしまいました。そして何が周りで起こっているのかを確認しに行く人などでざわざわとなりましたが、5分から10分くらいで電気が戻ってきました。なんだったんだろう？なんていう話もちらほら。。。そして、落ち着いてきたところで横井牧師のお話が始まり皆で聞いていました。そしてその後誕生日カードを渡してハッピーバースデーの歌を歌ってお祝いをしました。これでテーブルトーク自体は終了になります。その後は各自のタイミングで解散となります。やっぱりテーブルトークは楽しいと思い、できる限り参加できるだけ参加しようと思いました。)

Tomorrow (Friday), {actually it's already Friday}, We in here will have a Japanese Table Talk from 6pm. Also, I will try to help the organizer for this event. So, I am hopping to have not busy day of Friday in the morning and daytime. I am sure that I will try to get some food for bring to Japanese Table Talk since I usually eat there.... This time, they will try to have some event plan for Christmas prepare and other things for kids. That makes helping needed for this time more than ever. I usually help for some of stuff, but not all of them.

(明日(金曜日)、{すでにもう金曜日になっているのですが} 日本人へのテーブルトーク(お茶会っていうのかなぁ)が午後6時から開催されます。私も参加するんですが、今回は主催者の方々のお手伝いをしようと考えています。まぁ、いつもよりもイベントが多いというのもあるので。。。金曜日の午前中とかテーブルトークが始まるまで少しでゆっくりできれば良いなぁと思っています。でも、今回は何か持って行こうと思っています。毎回テーブルトークでは皆で持ち寄った食事を一緒に食べるようになっています。それとは別に今回はクリスマスに向けてのイベントの練習など子供たちには沢山のイベントを用意されているようなので、さすがに人手不足にならないようにと思って手伝おうと思っています。時々はイベントなどのお手伝いをしているのですが、すべて毎回出来るというわけではないので今回は精一杯やろうと思っています。)

One time, The Japanese Table Talk had this cake!

Well, I have been going to there for more than 4 year, and getting Senior member for them. Well, that means I am getting old too... lol Well, it has been more than 7 years of staying in Greenville, NC. I saw so much changing every year and so on. Wish I can tell all what it has been changed, and what it is not changed yet. I will try to update another blog post after I go to Table Talk and try to take some pictures this time more. Since, last time I took only one picture for this event, and this event is getting traditional for who coming to there. Oh yeah, Table Talk is holding for second Friday of the month usually. So we have at least 10~11 times in year. No July and/or August.

(まぁ、このテーブルトークに参加してはや4年以上になります。テーブルトーク自体が始まったのが4年前の夏(自分は始まった年の8月の終わりからの参加です)なので、自分も長いこといるなぁっと思ってしまいました。それもそのはずですね。グリーンビルに来てすでに7年以上経っていますから。グリーンビルのイベントやその他の事をもっと書きたいのですが、毎日毎日あるわけではないので書けるというほどのことではないですね。でも、こういった行事は伝統的なものになりつつあります。これからもテーブルトークはなくならないと思います。今回行ったら写真などをいっぱい取ろうと思っています。この前は一枚だけしか撮る事ができなかったので。。。この行事自体は毎月第2週の金曜日に開催されています。なので年間で10~11回ほどあります。7月か8月が夏休みでお休みです。)

Japanese Table Talk!

Today, we had a good event which is Japanese Table Talk, and this month was sooner to start Fall Season, and changing summer to fall now. We usually bring one or two dishes to bring, and so on. Also, we have several topics to talk over hours, and having fun time together. Children made bird house decoration, and that was so great all of them. I took one picture for that one. After all, I was trying to help main sponsor to talk topics and some activities. It was a great time people to have conversation and learn some new different knowledge from others. Well, it is a good time to have all of them.
(本日、テーブルトークという楽しいイベントがありました。今月は秋が始まる月でもあり、夏から秋に変わっていく季節の変わり目です。テーブルトークには来る人たちが１品料理やデザートを持ち寄って皆で楽しく会話をしながら食べる会です。それから、主催者の人たちがいろいろとトピックなどで話しをしたり、アクティビティーなどをして数時間を一緒に過ごします。楽しい一時がやはりいいと思われます。今回、子供たちが鳥の巣箱に色を付けるという工作をしました。みんないろいろな色を付けていましたが、出来上がっていたものはすごく良い作品のようになっていました。1枚だけ写真に収めていました。それ以外でメインの主催者の方のお手伝いを出来るように頑張ったりなどしました。これはすごくいいテーブルトークになりました。楽しい会話や新しい知識などを他の方から教えてもらえるとても良い機会です。とても良い時間をすごすことが出来ました。)

Also, I got birthday card from table talk. The Birthday is everyone has in one year, but for every month, we actually have someone's birthday. Since we are going to meet everyone once a month, why not to celebrate their birthday with everyone who come to Table Talk. So we started to have Birthday celebration every time we met. It was started around 3 to 4 years ago, and this is getting one of tradition for our Table Talk now. Hopefully, that will be continue and will be stay long like this.
(また、今回誕生日カードを頂きました。皆さんからのメッセージの入った誕生日カードはとても素敵なもので毎年うれしく思っております。実際、誕生日は1年に一回誰にでも訪れるものです。でも、実際には毎月誰かが誕生日を迎えるということにもなります。そこで毎月皆で集まるこの会で誕生日のお祝いを出来ないかという事から誕生日カードを渡すことが始まりました。始まったのは3年か4年前になりますが今では伝統になりつつあります。テーブルトークがある限りこのイベントを続けて行ってくれればいい思い出が増えていくのではないかと思います。このまま続くとうれしいものですね。)

Table Talk

On Friday, Japanese people have Table Talk like once a month. This is provide by a church people, and one person who is everyone knows person for us.

I like to go there and see what's going on. It is nice to see people in Greenville, NC and who are Japanese people. Also, you can know them and they are really nice people. I am tutoring some of their children. Also, that time I can know people other than who I know already. Also, making new friends there too. I usually talk to some American people, and some Japanese people.

When you go there, you can taste some Japanese food too. It is not only Japanese food, but it is nice to have some food from everyone. I am sure that is really nice and it is really good way to taste Japanese food. I like to invite American friend who are at ECU.

But not all the time, I can invite them. Well it is a good get together community who is from Japan. Also, American people always told me that "Any people are welcome to come here at table talk, and it is good way to people know another culture." Usually Table Talk has some related month Japanese events. So you will enjoy to join there.

Sometime, we will have a lot of things going on but sometime just one or two important things going on.

Well hope I will have fun time next one!!!
